People booking flights to India and heading to the southern part of the country may benefit from a list of top tips published by other travellers.
The  Daily Telegraph asked its readers to send through their top travel tips  for south India and has published a number of suggestions in the  newspaper.
Advice includes steering clear of certain foods such  as salads and ice creams in order to keep tummy problems at bay, while  bananas with broken skin should also be avoided.
Sharing water bottles is also a bad idea, the reader's suggestion noted, even in "smart, international-style hotels".
